TEARS OF LAMMAS
Lughnasadh – Lammas, is a time of slow decline. Autumn approaches. A little sadness imbues the air with a chill… a sob… a tear as the Greenlord begins his descent towards endings, collecting those who passed or were led astray into unknown realms. The Fae watch, silently grieving for the leaves that fall. Their tears slide like rain down the windows of dwellings where humans gather, mostly unaware, of what plays out in the mist as they perform the Lammas Rite. A sacrifice of bread and grain is made to the changing season…

Lammas Tears is an original work on 12” x 12” cotton rag, deckle edged… in watercolour wash and organic hand made inks, framed in raw oak.
Available through the gallery or directly from the artist on request.
