Summer progresses fast and the kitchen garden is full of produce to bottle and to share…

In an abundant autumn there’s plenty to pick and share amongst a like-minded community…

Some people grow things with a green thumb that plants flourish under but there are always things to swap, where climates differ slightly from one village to another and city folk drop by to explore…

Foraging for wild foods is a community thing… blackberrying, crabapples, finding edible fungi and wild herbs but only enough is taken not more, leaving others and the native wildlife a look-in, otherwise the natural landscape is plundered…

Autumn days, the weather cools down and harvesting is nearly done and so a celebration of abundance begins…

Swap or buy… farmers markets and hand crafted goods feature heavily in rural communities… there’s always something lovely or delicious to source…

Creatives thrive in small communities where the landscape inspires their work…

Nature inspires, birds sing and the slow drowsy hum of bees, allows the creative soul to breath…

If someone is away on holiday or unwell, there is always a friendly, neighbourly source of help looking after or watering the garden and in return, eggs, herbs, flowers or other produce is always given as a returned favour…

Across the pastures, the throb of tractors, slashing, raking and baling hay is heard deep into summer… potato and such are planted and ripening wheat ripples in the sunshine…

Summer holidays arrive and school’s out for the year… tad pole hunting, skipping stones and generally splashing in puddles is a timeless hobby…

What do boys and girls love to do… get wet of course but fishing is a lovely way to spend a stormy, sunny afternoon…

A walk by the river is therapeutic… wind tangled hair, damp clothes and the scent of watery places…

A country life can be beautific but it’s also hard work at any harvest time…

There’s the scent of richly perfumed lavender on the air and a feeling of satisfaction when a truck pulls away, filled to the brim with lavender pots… success is a productive lifestyle…

A waterside haven for wildlife and human alike…

When focus is elsewhere in creating something new, we can miss the visitations from the other realms…
